Based in Houston, Texas, Charles Shears established SDI Realty Advisors in 1998 and continues to drive operations as a managing partner. Under his leadership, the real estate venture began as a developer of retail centers typically anchored by Wal-Mart Supercenter locations and Lowe’s Home Improvement stores, focusing on the Houston Metro area. Charles Shears expanded the SDI strategic model in response to increased retail tenant demand nationwide.
Under the guidance of Charles Shears, SDI Realty Advisors has supported the development of more than 60 Lowe’s stores and 23 Wal-Mart locations, in addition to numerous collaborations with recognizable brands such as JC Penney, Dick’s Sporting Goods, and Bed Bath & Beyond, to name only a few.
Charles Shears studied economics at the University of Texas in Austin. He continues expanding his professional knowledge through affiliations with organizations such as the International Council of Shopping Centers, the National Association of Convenience Stores, and S&W Wholesalers. When he does not coordinate all aspects of retail development projects, Charles Shears enjoys racing cars and motorcycles. He has won numerous races and participated in multiple editions of the American LeMans Series.
